(December 03, 1926 to July 08, 2012 ) Resident of De Kalb, Texas Visitation Information: Visitation will be held 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M Monday, July 09, 2012 at Bates Family Funeral Home. Obituary: Relda Helton Carlton, of De Kalb, Texas, passed away Sunday, July 8, 2012, at a local nursing center. She was 85. Relda was born December 3, 1926, in Arkadelphia, Arkansas, to J.K. and Thelma Shors Helton. She was a homemaker and a farmer and rancher. Relda was a member of New Hope Missionary Baptist Church in De Kalb, Texas. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carlos Carlton, in 1992. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Jeff and Sherri Carlton of De Kalb, Texas; a daughter and son-in-law, Karla and Steve Ballew of De Kalb, Texas; a brother, Pat Helton of Brazoria, Texas; 4 grandchildren, Jordan and Hope Ballew, Maegan Birdsong and Ben Carlton; and 2 great grandchildren. Services will be 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, July 10, 2012, at Bates Family Funeral Home with Rev. Sam Reeves officiating. Interment will follow at New Hope Cemetery in De Kalb, Texas. Visitation will be held 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M Monday, July 09, 2012 at Bates Family Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to New Hope Cemetery Association, c/o Vivian Reed, 703 CR 4311, De Kalb, Texas 75559.

Sorry to hear about Aunt Relda. We cannot make it to the viewing, but Tommie Sue and I will be there Tuesday for the funeral. Aunt Relda was a great woman and we will miss her. Our prayers and thoughts are with you and yours. See you soon.
